Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
this was originally made for my own use, but i figured i'd share! this template is inspired by the short story paper menagerie by ken liu — read it if you're able, it made me cry :c image required is 190 x 400 pixels, accent colours are #8886a9 and #e6de8d. [break][break]

One of my earliest memories starts with me sobbing. I refused to be soothed no matter what Mom and Dad tried.[break][break]
Dad gave up and left the bedroom, but Mom took me into the kitchen and sat me down at the breakfast table.[break][break]
"Kan, kan," she said, as she pulled a sheet of wrapping paper from on top of the fridge. For years, Mom carefully sliced open the wrappings around Christmas gifts and saved them on top of the fridge in a thick stack. She set the paper down, plain side facing up, and began to fold it. I stopped crying and watched her, curious.[break][break]
She turned the paper over and folded it again. She pleated, packed, tucked, rolled, and twisted until the paper disappeared between her cupped hands. Then she lifted the folded-up paper packet to her mouth and blew into it, like a balloon.[break][break]
"Kan," she said. "Laohu." She put her hands down on the table and let go.[break][break]
A little paper tiger stood on the table, the size of two fists placed together. The skin of the tiger was the pattern on the wrapping paper, white background with red candy canes and green Christmas trees.[break][break]
I reached out to Mom's creation. Its tail twitched, and it pounced playfully at my finger. "Rawrr-sa," it growled, the sound somewhere between a cat and rustling newspapers.[break][break]
I laughed, startled, and stroked its back with an index finger. The paper tiger vibrated under my finger, purring.[break][break]
"Zhe jiao zhezhi," Mom said. This is called origami.[break][break]
I didn't know this at the time, but Mom's kind was special. She breathed into them so that they shared her breath, and thus moved with her life. This was her magic.[break][break]

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

this version is kind of mobile compatible, in that it does display more or less correctly except that a small part is cut off, but that part doesn't even have any words so who cares amirite.
