this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.

the medic arrives in mere seconds, picking up old woman josie’s unresponsive body and zipping away promptly; saskia scarcely has time to acknowledge her presence before she is gone once more. but, no matter -- her eyes are glued on the shadows of tunnels anyway, the light bouncing and reflecting off nothing she can see before it is gracelessly extinguished, just like that.
saskia’s eyes narrow; the bear’s ears flatten against her skull and her head drops into a tentatively defensive stance. she is ready, almost, to pull out a hidden dagger in defence against some unknown shadow-crafted monster before a woman steps into view, illuminated only faintly by the jellyfish’s dim glow.
oddly enough, she recognises riley, if only from brief glimpses and hearsay around the coven. she is not sure if this would be good news or bad -- she knows dmitri’s opinion of her brother, and momentarily wonders if riley is of the same mind.
she feigns indifference carefully, her hand returning, empty, to her side. “the building collapsed,” saskia says, “i came down here to try and help.”
luci looms over saskia’s diminutive form in the tunnels, a pale shadow with bared teeth. not moving an inch, she regards riley with open suspicion. “you’re the one who came out of the tunnels. what’s with that?”
[attr="class","victoriousscroll"]Caleb was being desperate right now. The compressions that he had done to the woman, no matter how he tried, didn't seem to work. He would've continued whatever he was doing had it not been for the woman who suddenly approached him and Saskia and told him that she would have better chances in the medical station.
And just like that, she carries old woman Josie with her and exits the scene. He stands up and looks over to Aria, and then to Saskia and Raziel with a sad shrug. I did my best. He sighed mentally, then turned to them again with a smile of reaassurance. Let's just hope they truly cure her in the medical station.
However as soon as the woman exits, another one enters the spot and suddenly asks what this all is in a rather reprimanding tone. Saskia seems to know her very well, as she starts to converse with her and then the bear asks whatever she was doing here.
Aria flew over to him and perched on his shoulder, but doesn't say a word yet. However, now both of them are getting suspicious of the woman. Even though they might be wrong and she is actually innocent, they aren't going to take any chances.
The female hawk then whispers to the bear. Who is this? she asks, eyeing the rather young lady. She looks oddly familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
tl;dr: entering the building trying to find old woman josie, finds a window and is still undecisive whether to enter or risk the building collapsing on top of them

Apparently, there was no need for Raziel to lead the way once he pointed out the collapsed building. The medic woman, evidently fairly skilled in spellcraft, was able to teleport herself into the collapsed structure before two flaps of the small merchant's wings. By the time he reached the window entrance, she was already zipping past in the opposite direction, a blur to the eye.
"Ah. I suppose I'll just stay over here, then," Raziel mutters under a short huff. The medic had proven herself capable enough to handle that problem on her own -- more importantly, she'd proven that Raziel was useless in this situation. Even if the merchant had wanted to help (they didn't, really), there wasn't a place for them to step in. Admittedly, Raziel was glad to again be nearer to Ramiel, and didn't fancy leaving the sidewalk alongside the building a second time. Though the merchant continued to have no intention of entering the precarious structure, they would stay crouched down near the window, carefully taking in their familiar's description of events below.
The tiny jellyfish was not familiar with the members of Silvertongue, and did not recognize the new arrival who appeared from the tunnels. The mere fact that there was someone intentionally roaming Sundial's underground around the same time as a building collapse was enough reason for caution, however.
"We are not looking for a fight," the familiar states, voice deep and calm, "We merely wish to see that as many people as possible walk away from this scene safe and well."
"Well it looks like you're doing a wonderful job," Riley says to Saskia, sarcasm woven generously into her smile. The sunken building blocking the tunnel and the unconcious body of Iolani didn't exactly paint a flattering picture of the young Silvertongue's ability to help the situation. [break][break] She kneels down near the opposite end of the ritual circle, brushing the inscriptions with the tips of her fingers and examining their magical nature. "Oh, don't worry about me, sweetheart, I'm no one important. Just a concerned citizen," she says to Aria without looking up, demonstrating that even whispers were not safe from her ears -- or, perhaps she'd been answering Luci? She looks between Iolani and the circle with a sharp gaze of dissatisfaction. Oh how easy this would have been if the unconcious girl was at all involved, but it seemed that the residual magic of the circle touched her only barely. The same could be said for the other two witches in the room. They all must have shown up after the spell's completion, and were thus useless to Riley's current mission. [break][break] "Well then," she says, standing and swiftly brushing off her knees, "I'm sure you'll understand if I'm on my way. I wouldn't want to stick around here for long when there's a necromancer on the loose." Her hand motions to the ritual circle as evidence of her claim. "Have fun 'helping'," she says with a too-sweet smile and a wink before vanishing into thin air.
[break][break] The odd whispering, though Riley had left, did not return to the tunnels. [break][break] All in all, the odd happenings of the day appeared to have come to an end. Nothing (besides the ritual circle) seemed to be out of place in the tunnels if any of the witches were to explore, and no more buildings sunk into the ground. With the mana of the area returned to normal, other witches were able to more effectively assist in helping the wounded. Whether on their own or with a bit of help from the people above, Iolani was eventually brought back up to the surface and taken to the Helios Knights' Hall for treatment and questioning. Old Woman Josie's store is, understandably, quarantined by the Helios Knights to prevent civilian injury. What the investigators are doing below is anyone's guess. [break][break] Old Woman Josie herself, though her breathing and heartbeat were restored, remains mentally unresponsive. She is cared for in the hospital as doctors try to bring her out of this coma, but the outlook is not hopeful. [break][break] A tragic truth, that the lives of the weak can be so swiftly destroyed by the collateral damage of the powerful.

[attr="class","victoriousscroll"]Both witch and familiar watch in a near distance as Riley and Saskia begin to talk to each other. "Well it looks like you're doing a wonderful job." She says to Saskia, and Caleb could tell a clear sign of sarcasm in her voice. He frowned and furrowed his eyebrows. Random woman just pops in and rudely speaks to one of the girls he had met this day... was she even taking this situation seriously?
The mysterious woman then speaks about being no one important, and he could see Aria's feather's slightly ruffle up with an unsettled aura suddenly in her. How did she hear? Aria had whispered to the bear so she possibly couldn't be heard. But looks like this woman has the sharp ears.
They spent a few minutes standing there and looking for things that still needs to be done, but then she mentions a necromancer running loose. This piqued Caleb's curiosity, however he knew there was no chance of ever knowing what this woman meant as it was her mission, and he has no business with that. Then the next thing they knew, she was saying goodbye and disappearing through midair.
Silence came after that.
Caleb was mute, but he couldn't take silence that much. He sighed and smiled at the two witches remaining in the scene, Aria flying over to him with a nod to the two others and their familiars. Well... it has been quite the eventful day today, don't you agree? She said, and sighs herself. Unfortunately my master and I have some more other business to attend to, so if you'll excuse us, we best be going out of here.
Caleb makes his way through the tunnel, but looks back at them with a last smile on his face. Aria speaks for him once more. ...It was nice knowing you both.
And just like that, he and Aria was gone.

Next morning had been the usual normal day. However, the news about the unusual events Downtown has been shown on the newspaper today. The broken-down house of Old Woman Josie was even shown as the headline picture for this article.
Caleb kept reading the newspaper and sighed to himself. Whatever just happened back there, it was strange and unusual and everyone knew that. Aria was simply perched up on the window, watching the sky as the clouds went by like normal.
Both hoped that the two witches they met yesterday were now fine.
