Ah, Jelly looks cute pouting like that. Usually his kisses result into flustered ladies (and men), but not this time, Percy supposes. He knows the pinkette is nervous, and he can only hope he has somehow calmed her down. Ironic, really, thinking that he is the one to bring her to such a stressful situation in the first place. But he likes it this way. It makes him wanting to dote her more. Guess he's spending his day-off with a pretty girl today.
"Yeah," Percy says. "It has provided us from split-second attacks. We can actually accelerate the formation of the bubble, enough to protect us from sudden attacks." The talk of element has Percy wondering. "I really like my element. How about you? What's yours?"
He has to remind himself not to put up any stereotypes. He has met innocent-looking fellows who turn out to be the most powerful.
"Oh right, what now, huh." Well he guesses it's time for the highlight. Seraph slowly maneuvers the bubble below the surface of the water. The protective sheet holds sturdy against the pressure, and it enables the duo to enjoy the underwater view. The fishes are curious about the new addition to the lake. They crowd the bubble and flit away as fast as they approached. The bubble touched underwater flora and fauna.
Percy relaxes against the thick protective sheet. He enjoys the view while helping Seraph maintain the technique. Well his opinion doesn't matter now. What does Jelly think? The brunette looks at her, expectant of her reaction. Too expectant, with genuine enthusiasm.

She had to admit, she liked being inside the bubble. It was definitely sturdier than any shield or border she was in. The young woman turned and looked around the area they were floating on, observing the water and the fishes swimming in it. She then hears Percy from behind her talking more about his element, concluding that he like his element and asking her what her element is.
Jelly looks away from the water and turns to Percy. "Darkness. My element's darkness." She looks away with a small smile. "And an illusionist like you."
Then he mumbles a 'what now', making Jelly gulp up her own saliva. They couldn't be just floating around the water and not doing anything but... you know, float... right? She glances back down on the lake and blinks. If only there was something she could do to get them out of this pathetic situation...
And then the bubble suddenly submerges down the surface of the water, her eyes widening at the sudden action of the bubble. She saw the swan from above the water for a few moments before finally, they are below the water, very much in sight of the fishes around them. She slowly backs away and sits beside Percy, quite terrified about the possible things that could happen.
What if this bubble pops?! What if we drown?! DAMMIT I SHOULD NEVER HAVE TRUSTED THIS GUY--
The fishes swim towards the water and observes them, then quickly swims away once they approach. Jelly looks on, now quite curious. "What... what the heck?" She mumbles to herself, as more fishes approach and watch them with wide, scary eyes. "These fishes! Oh my god, these fishes!"
Unexpectedly, she is laughing and slowly crawling to the side of the bubble where there were more fishes in sight."These fishes... I've never really seen them up close!"

See. This is what he's saying. Her element is darkness yet she's a ball of tsundere. But it's a thrill to hear that she's an illusionist, too. Talking about witchcraft places the exact puzzle piece Percy is looking for a while ago. He finally remembers where this girl is from. Which is impressive, since he has tried so hard not to remember anything from that day.
If that changes anything... it changes almost nothing. Sure, she was a bit dumb back then, but hey she's probably a baby--his baby now--Leviathan so she has a lot to learn.
"That's nice," Percy manages. "I'm a novice, so I'm fairly proficient at my technique and my affinity. In case you might be wondering why I can keep this up for so long. It helps that we aren't in battle, aside from the fact that I developed my technique offensively to aid with illusion."
The change of subject seem to not reach Jelly's ears. She has come over to him and laid by his side. It makes their weight shift, and bubble tilts sideways, over, slowly, until they're both lying completely and facing the murky sun. She seems more relaxed, though Percy can still feel some uncertainty with her. It can't be helped. Jelly is absolutely delighted with the fishes. She crawls to them once more, and this time Percy controls the bubble, steadying it so the girl can enjoy the sight without worrying more. The way she croons makes Percy laugh.
"Cute," he manages. "Do you want to take care of one? Or touch one?" He looks at her with mischievous eyes. Oh, he just have a way to fulfill her wishes.

A while ago, she wasn't really listening to him talk about himself, and she wasn't paying that much attention when the bubble tilted and made them both lie down and look at the distorted sun above the water. Suddenly she wondered if she'll be able to see the sun again, or die out here with this crazy young man. She wasn't worried about any more of these, though. The fishes were there to comfort her, for some reason.
...These fishes are precious.
But right now, she's staring at these fishes, some of which were swimming away if she dared touch them with a small finger. She giggles and watches them try to get in the bubble, but bounce away in the process. She wished she could touch one... but not keep one as a pet because she knew Obelisk would be jealous. But still... she really, really wants to touch those scales and just feel them struggling in between her hands...
"Do you want to take care of one? Or touch one?"
...Actually, no. Fuck that. She ain't touching one.
The pinkette whips her head towards him with a glare. "What are you on about now?!" She exclaims, turning back to him and crossing her arms. "I mean, yeah, they're cute and all, but no I'm not touching or keeping one, thank you." She then looks at the fishes outside of the bubble, and suddenly she looks so hypnotized, soooo wanting to touch one-- "I'm... fine watching them here as it is."

Percy's mind begins to wander. The serenity of the bottom of the lake is surprisingly calming, and by this time Percy has completely relaxed against the protective sheet. He still exerts mana, helping Seraph maintain the bubble, but he barely pays any attention to it. It has become auto-pilot, so his mind is able to think of many things and not is not just focused on the technique.
He begins to think of his future. Admittedly it is the only thing he ever thinks of right now. He's a novice now, and is soon to become adept and he is more than eager. But at the same time he still lacks so much... A second affinity, that is. He had tried various classes, trying out many affinities but none seems to suit him. That being said he feels much weaker than the witches of his class, simply because he lack a second affinity.
Ah, at the same time it could become advantageous of him! Quality over quantity. It doesn't matter if he only have ten scrolls, what matters is that he has mastered all of those ten scrolls. He could defeat an army.
"... are you on about now?!" is the sentence that brings Percy back to reality. Percy innocently looks at her, looking utterly clueless. "What?" he says, as he has forgotten what he had said earlier.
"Oh, I see. But keep your voice down. The fishes might hear it. They'll feel sad." The fishes however don't seem to mind, and their googly eyes stare at the girl, as hypnotized as she is. It's true love. Nonchalantly Percy sticks his hand out of the bubble, and the bubble merely wraps watertight around his hand. For the first time he feels the cold waters.
He withdraws it, then, and once again the bubble fixed itself. Satisfied, Percy nods. "Last chance, darling, before we go up," he offers, looking pointedly at Jelly.

He seems to be thinking deeply about something, Jelly notes, before she screams and suddenly he comes back to reality. The young woman scoffs about the fishes being sad; they didn't display any emotions once she said that, didn't they? Jelly hugs her knees and looks back at the fishes with a small, sad smile. "Haha... they're not sad. Look at them." Googly eyes just stare back at her, some at Percy. "...No emotions."
She had to admit, the water is scary. Very scary, especially if you suddenly submerge downwards to the deep and drown. The creatures swimming in it don't make it any better. They have curious eyes, wide and scary, and they just look at you without showing any emotions. Maybe all animals like fishes are this. Jelly thought that inside they had emotions, though. How else could they move away when Jelly approaches if they didn't have fear?
Somehow, though, the water is also hollow. Like her. She sometimes feels very hollow and blank, and so incomplete that she couldn't bear it. The girl sighs and turns to the fishes, who one by one are departing from the bubble. Only a few of them -- countable, only four -- remain where they are. Staring. Staring into nothing.
...It was a scary thought.
The young man behind her tells her it was her last chance to observe the fishes, before they finally go up, thankfully. Jelly stays silent for a while, staring back at the curious animals. Eventually, they leave one by one. Four... three... two...
The last fish doesn't leave.
Jelly sighs and finally nods, turning to Percy. "Right. Let's go up now." She tells him, a somehow sad smile on her face as she leans against the bubble's wall and hugs her knees. Her thoughts aren't doing properly right now, though.

No emotions?
Percy looks at the empty pair of googly eyes. It stares at Jelly, unmoving, even if its companions has already left. When Jelly says they can go up now, it seems to understand. As Percy and Seraph lifts the bubble up, slowly, the last remaining fish tries to swim up, but eventually, gives up. They ascend, and breaks the surface, leaving the depths of the lake to its peaceful environment.
For the record, Percy doesn't actually believe fish has no emotions. They definitely do. Expression was what they don't have. Humans are so lucky to express their happiness, their pain, their anger. Fish? Oh, it probably doesn't understand such concepts.
The sun blinds Percy a moment. The mute swan takes control of the bubble completely, and she cuts short to the chase. When Percy eventually refocuses, they are already closer to the shoreline than the center of the lake. Percy stands up. "Jelly, come here," the Leviathan says. He gestures to his feet, indicating that would do the "dancing on the lake" thing again, but this time, it's a dance to the land.
Percy would have already forgotten the letter if Seraph has not reminded him. Oh, the post office excuse. Right... "I changed my mind," the boy suddenly announces. "I'll just drop by the post office tomorrow. Do you have any place in mind right now, Jelly?" Of course, there is no way he wouldn't notice how the pinkette hugged her knees before--if she wishes to leave for home, then her wish is Percy's command.
"Or we can go home," he says. "It has been a long day."

As the ascend towards the lake's surface, Jelly watches from below the bubble as the fish attempts to give chase, wanting to observe the huge creatures inside the equally large bubble again. But finally, it gives up, swimming down the lake to follow its brothers. The young woman blinks nonchalantly as she watches the fish swim away, not paying much attention to the what was happening around her.
...Maybe she was wrong. Maybe fish did have emotions; only their faces don't allow it to be conveyed well. Just look at how curious that fish went towards her, before swimming away. That's curiosity, wonder, and then eventually irritation being conveyed through the aquatic creature's actions.
But her thoughts slowly slip away once they finally emerge from the water, the trees around them and the sky and the sun finally clear as day, not being covered by the blanket of water like earlier. For a moment, she doesn't get used to the new revelation, but eventually her eyes heal from the overwhelming sensation of being in the water for too long. She notices Percy step out of the bubble, walking on the platform of water once more, urging her to come over to him.
And does, carefully standing up and reaching a hand to grab Percy's. The girl yelps once she is out of the bubble, as she is surprised by the sudden swinging motions it does before she got out. She breathes deeply, carefully, before turning to Percy with a doubtful, yet small smile on her face. She's at least relieved that they've finally gotten out from the depths of the lake, but...
Percy suddenly announces that he'll be going to the post office tomorrow; oh... right. Percy did say that he'd go to the post office after their little dance. Jelly did have a particular place in mind before her insecurity attacked her and Percy got a hold of her.
When asked if she had a place in mind, she kept silent for a moment, lowering her head. Maybe she should just go home, it's been quite a tiring day today... or risk passing this wonderful yet strange moment she's had with Percy right now. Plus, she wasn't really in the mood to be going home today... she still needs to grab something before doing so.
A final decision comes to mind, and she raises her head to look at him with a small smile on her face.
"I'm... not ready to go home just yet. I'd like to grab some coffee, if you may."

Percy grabs Jelly's hand firmly as she helps herself out of the bubble. Ah... it seems his attempts have failed upon bring the "fun" out of the activity... he should have taken into consideration what Jelly prefers, and should not have surprised her with things he thought she would like. But to be honest, even Percy's mood has swung. There is something about the sensation... of being under water for some time, with the water pressure threatening to burst in any minute, muting all sounds from above water. It's serene, it's peaceful... yet, weirdly enough, disturbing.
It's like sinking, drowning, but not quite. It's like being in an entirely different world--somewhere Percy doesn't belong, even if he is a water elemental himself.
"Sure," Percy says. He notes her small smile, before taking her hand. Well, he'll just put the weird feeling aside for the meantime. Coffee it is. Percy leads to her to this coffee place he knows. Granted, it's particularly cheap, definitely not of the high class type, but he loves their coffee. They make their way slowly to the place, leaving the lake behind.
As they take the first steps towards said coffee shop, Percy remains silent. If Jelly would open up a topic, then he would respond. They are halfway when he suddenly remembers.
Ah, no... He stops, then. Right, he has almost forgotten the lesson he learned literally minutes ago! "Uh, Jelly..." he starts. "Do you have any coffee place in mind? I have, but I want to know where you want to go, too, then we'll go there. My treat," he adds quickly. Now, he wants to do it right.

Sitting in the bubble for so long has prompted her legs to not work quite temporarily, but she instantly recovers from it; she is still able to walk well. What's most important is walking with Percy, walking on solid land, and not walking on the scary water like what just happened a while earlier.
Percy agrees to go get coffee with her, and she is grateful for that. What better way to end the day than going out to drink some coffee? And now they are here, walking along the quiet streets, which was contrary to the way the streets had been too noisy just a few hours ago. It was... new to her. Streets this empty wasn't always something she would see everyday, and again, she is grateful for that.
"...Thank you." She had said to him a while back when they were in the lake, when Percy agrees to get coffee with her. And she is truly grateful for that.
The two make their way to a coffee shop that Jelly assumed Percy knows. There weren't that much people to disturb their "date" more than just a while, so she likes that. Even though she did have a coffee place in mind, she figured it would be most crowded and there would be many people -- couples -- sipping their caffeine in there, so she doesn't suggest it to him. Instead, she follows Percy wherever he would take her.
They take their first few steps into the coffee shop he had led her to; Jelly, at least, likes the pleasant atmosphere that it displays-- but that is until they stop, Percy suddenly asking her if she did have another coffee shop in mind. Earlier ago she had thought about it, but decided against it.
She smiles at Percy and holds his hand, dragging him inside. "I rather drink my coffee here. It's peaceful and I already like it that way." She states, then pouts playfully. "Besides, the other coffee shops may be overly crowded, so I figured we drink our coffee here."
Besides, it's Percy and he promised her a treat. She wanted a treat here, then.

"Thank you."
Well, who knew. A small smile tugs on Percy's lips, and he only lets half of it to show. Thank you, huh. Somehow, that eases Percy's guilt. His only response is to tighten his grip on Jelly's hand. He shuts up, then, and just enjoy their short walk to the cafe. He only speaks when he asks Jelly if she has any coffee place in mind, of course he has to ask that when they're basically five steps away from the cafe. Of course. He drops the hold on her hand, just to give her a sense of freedom to choose.
And then, she drags him inside. This time, it's her who holds his hand, and Percy puts no resistance at all. "Right," he agrees, chuckling. "Yes, that is precisely why I like this one, too. It's away from the crowd." It's indeed peaceful here. Not as popular as the other coffee shops. After all it's nestled in such an inconvenient place--away from the business district, at least. But it does not compromise quality, though.
As soon as they're inside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and tea greets them warmly. The place also sells cake and pastry, as well as some sweets. They also have cold drinks. "What would you like?" he asks, gesturing at the display behind the glass. A young woman serves as the bartender, and she's someone Percy knows. He's a regular here, after all.
"They make their own vanilla here," Percy suggests. "So the taste of any of their beverages with vanilla is quite exceptional. As for me, I usually like my coffee with variety, so I never get the same thing twice in a row."

Percy agrees to her opinions about the coffee shop he chose, giving him a nod of approval as they make their way inside. What she already loves about it is the peace and serenity it conveys once the customer enters; most people might not like this kind of atmosphere, because as far as she knew, they loved hanging out in places where there were large crowds to talk to. It may be the reason why this shop doesn't get enough recognition.
They find themselves in front of the counter, a young woman serving as the bartender. Percy then asks what she would like, and she turns to the displayed food behind the glass. The sweets and cakes make her mouth water, if they were to talk about her hunger metaphorically. But she sometimes did love cakes and sweets. Eating it with coffee as beverage makes it all the more better.
"That's interesting," She nods and blinks in awe while Percy talks about the vanilla that is served here, as well as other facts about the coffee shop. That must've taken a lot of skill and craftsmanship, if Jelly were to think about it. "Makes it all the more worthwhile to go here." She remarks with a smile, kneeling over to get a good look at the treats at the bottom.
She then turns to Percy with a pleading look in her eyes, and she daintily points to the chocolate cake slice served on a grey plate where she was kneeling from. "...One choco cake, please. If you can afford it, that is." She then turns to the young woman. "Also, do you have chocolate milk tea?" She asks her, then turns to Percy with two hands clasped together. "If they have it, then I'll take one! But if they don't I'll simply have hot chocolate. Thanks."
Jelly then turns to the seats and points over to an empty seat in the middle right. "I'll be waiting here, then." She tells Percy, then makes her way towards the table.

When Jelly kneels to get a better look at the treats, Percy readies his leather wallet. He fishes the wallet out of his back pocket. Nowadays he can afford to spend a bit more. He is already a novice so finances aren't really a problem to him anymore. His coven is finally paying attention to him. Jobs pay good. Jelly then starts commenting on the treats, and Percy has nothing more to say. She says the truth, after all. It's always worthwhile to go this place.
And then the pinkette looks at him with such bright, pleading eyes, and suddenly the sub finds itself jobless. He can stare right through those eyes all day. He blinks, as if he's really blinded. "No problem," Percy says, after a short pause. And then, as he processes her order, he tilts his head to the side and nods thoughtfully. Chocolates, huh. "You must be a fan of chocolates," Percy remarks. "Okay, be there in a minute." He then turns to the young woman, who at the time is already punching Jelly's order.
"Right, what she said. You have chocolate milktea, right?" A nod. Satisfied, Percy goes with his order. "Please add two Spanish rolls and one medium vanilla frappe. Low sugar, please. That's all." The boy then hands the payment, and the woman asks him his name. "Percy. All right, thank you." He is handed a tray with generous waft of tissue, utensils, and two slices of banana cake--a freebie, the woman said. Percy finds Jelly, then, and he puts down the tray gently.
"Beautiful view," he comments as he sits opposite of the female. But he isn't looking outside--he's looking at her.

She hasn't been able to afford anything she ever loved, wanted, or enjoyed before. As a child, her parents did not like buying what she wanted as a child, and as an apprentice for the Leviathan, even though the pay is good it still almost always ends up to the taxes for the government, or other important necessities that she would need. It's only a rarity for her to finally obtain something she wanted, like chocolate cake, for example.
That's why she's grateful she met Percy today.
It's not only the chocolate cake, though, or the chocolate milktea she decided to order from this cafe; it's also about the wonderful moments that she had shared with him from just a few hours ago. She hasn't experienced much like this before, which left her quite overwhelmed to think about, but it's all good. She would be lying if she said she didn't like how this day turned out.
Jelly's eyes are fixated outside of the window while she waits for her and Percy's order, the pinkette's thoughts racing rapidly inside her mind while she is sight-seeing the quiet road. The sun is almost about to go down the horizon, signalling afternoon, or the time set to 4:00-5:00. She sighs silently to herself, turning her head only to see Percy holding a tray in his hands, with the treats on the said tray.
"There you are." She mutters, and once he is seated, she immediately reaches over for the cake and the milktea. "Also, what's with the banana cake? A freebie, I guess?" She asks while pointing to the two other cakes on the tray. She smiles and takes a plate. "I'll take it too, then."
Percy comments on the beautiful view, and for a while she assumes it's the road outside. But once she perks her head up she sees that Percy is looking at her, no one else. Right now she would be reprimanding him like per usual from a while ago, but this time, she stays quiet, simply staring back at him.
...She smiles and closes her eyes, a light tint of pink touching her cheeks.
Post by percival grayreme on Nov 17, 2018 6:05:45 GMT
"Yeah, thank you for waiting," he says as he sets down the tray, and subsequently, the banana cake, tissue, utensils, and their number. Jelly immediately eyes the banana cake, and Percy smiles. Cute. "Go ahead," he says, pushing the plate towards the female, which she takes. He then puts the tray into an empty table not far away from them, before he takes his own seat.
If Percy's going to be honest, Jelly doesn't really strike him as beautiful the first he lays his eyes on her. Her pink hair is too much of a distraction, taking away his attention to her face. What should have been an act seems like... not really an act now. She stares back at him, and they hold eye contact for a few long seconds. Percy could see how the rose colors her cheeks.
She says thank you, and Percy is suddenly shy.
Look, here's the thing. He has never been shy before. Awkward, many times, excited, almost all the time, afraid, at that park and many other missions, happy, rarely nowadays, but he's always smiling. Her thank you simply means so much. Percy's just thankful he isn't annoying her anymore. Right now, she seems to genuinely enjoy the experience.
"Fifteen minutes," he suddenly says, feeling the need to change the subject. "I hope you're not too hungry yet."
He then turns to actually look at the view. It's actually very beautiful outside, too. This is the time of the day when the skies change colors, making for a spectacular view. From here he could see the lake reflect the skies. It looks more peaceful than usual. Ah, speaking of lakes...
"What do you think of the lake?" he asks Jelly.
