this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall

Percy urges her to go on and take the banana cake, but he needn't not say it anymore; she'd already taken it from him once he pushes the plate towards her. Gripping on the fork, she starts taking a piece and shoving it in her mouth, and suddenly she feels like bliss upon first swallowing it. "Thanks..." She mumbles, out of the moment at first. "They really make the best desserts here. Just try tasting a bit of this banana cake."
She's thanked him so many times, but for sure, after this day ends, she'll be sure to thank him more later. In fact, she hoped it wouldn't be the last time they would see each other; whether they'd be together in missions, or simply on their off time, she would accept it. Jelly's never tried anything like this before, so she'll thank Percy for this. Even if it would take her a thousand times to do so.
Jelly looks at Percy once he declares that they should wait for fifteen minutes prior; she's fine with that, as she's not too impatient when it comes to waiting for their order. But then again, maybe this is why she thought she had grabbed the chocolate cake and choco milk tea from him. Hunger was probably driving her crazy. But either way, it's fine.
She simply nods in response, and continues eating the banana cake. By now it would be half way done and the plate would be empty with a few cake crumbs after a few minutes. Before she would make her little speech, Percy suddenly asks what she thinks of the lake. This makes her blink in surprise, and she wonders what brought him to bring this topic up again after they'd finally gotten out of it.
Jelly falls silent for a few minutes. And then, a sigh and she raises her head to look at him. "...It's scary." She replies, forcing a smile. "It's scary and quite depressing, and it feels as if it would pull you in any moment and force you to join the equally terrifying creatures. But it's also solemn and peaceful, something that would make you think about a lot of stuff."
Suddenly she shivers and she rubs both arms, but she is still smiling. "...Not to say thinking about it is a good thing."
A few minutes of silence and she turns to Percy, her rather rambunctious disposition presenting itself. She crosses her arms and raises an eyebrow, smirking at Percy. "What's gotten into you that you decided to bring this up, anyway?" She points to him with that same smug smirk. "How about you? What do you think about the lake?"

Percy beamed at that comment. "They do!" he says enthusiastically. Jelly tries the banana cake and seems to like it. Percy does the same, picking up the fork and using it to slice part of the banana cake. After putting eating the mouthful, Percy licks his lips, getting the crumbs that may have stuck near his mouth. The banana cake has just the right sweetness in it.
Percy is feeling pretty happy. For a while they continue to enjoy the presence of each other... and of course, the food. That is, until Percy opens up the topic of the lake adventure. Jelly's prolonged silence means so many things to Percy. The fact that she... seems so seriously thinking about it makes Percy nervous. Did she like it? Percy hopes she liked it. He brought her there to flex on her, and that's the truth the boy can't deny. He had walked on water, danced with her on the water, and then enclosed themselves inside a bubble and submerged themselves in the lake.
The Leviathan wants it to be fun.
In a way, Percy understands where Jelly is coming from. He gives small nods as she explains. His eyes dart... somewhere else, trying to remember the thoughts that came to him when they were deep in the lake. But he can't remember. He can only remember it being sad. Melancholic. There is just something about the muted world underwater, where sounds is supposed to travel faster with closer molecules, only blocked by a thin sheet of mana.
Percy scratches the back of his neck sheepishly. He hunches his shoulders and looks away, as if trying to make himself small and insignificant."Yeah, that kind of blew up my plans," he says, chuckling nervously. Then he sighs and releases the hunched posture, this time opting to scoot forward in a slouch. "I wanted it to be fun for the both of us. But what I felt is nothing close to fun. It's like, it's good to ponder about things sometimes, but that's not really my intention."
Ah, this is really frustrating. First attempt at wooing the girl... failed. In a quite lazy and complaining voice, Percy says, "I mean, who picks meditating as a first date? Certainly not me."

Jelly is satisfied with the first few moments they share with each other in silence, simply eating the banana cake with small stabs of a fork. But Percy brings up the lake adventure, and Jelly answers his questions as per request. It is uncomfortable, thinking about it again... and she thought Percy also thinks so. She looks at him and for some reason she could see a similar melancholy in his eyes, although she's probably just hallucinating it. Percy in a melancholic state is... pretty hard to imagine.
Percy answers her once it was her turn to ask, stating that he was, indeed, trying to flex on her. She should have expected that. After all, who else would suddenly grab a girl, leave you questioning who he is in the first place, bring you to the lake, and start dancing with you in that said lake? Well, it was not to say it wasn't enjoyable, and not to say it was all too sudden... but...
She listens to him as he complains about how their "first date" turned out -- her eyes almost twitch at that, and she wants to scream at him again and tell him they are not together, but... hey. Who brought her all that fun again? Who brought her favorite treats and allowed her to drink her coffee here again? She keeps reminding herself that, stopping herself from being over-dramatic. They would probably be driven away if that happened.
...So instead she nods and hums in acknowledgement, scooting closer to him and smiling softly. "...While it's not really a good thing, thinking about the wrongs of the past, it was still fun, Percy." She reassures him with that same small smile, still calming. "It's only natural for me, after all. I've had too many mistakes in the past, and haven't been able to move on completely... but I don't feel anything else for it at all. I'm fine, I reassure you, and me being suddenly uncomfortable isn't because of our small trip on and into the lake."
The pinkette closes her eyes and sighs. "...It may have been one of the best dates I've ever had."
She falls silent once she says that, a pink blush forming on her face. The girl scratches her head and leans back on her chair, looking away. "S-Sorry if I suddenly had to blurt it out... I just needed someone to hear me out for once. And you're the only one here, so..." She mutters, pouting, her eyes making its way to the corners so she can stare at him, but she still doesn't have the courage to look him on the face.

Percy does not miss that little eye twitch of Jelly when he mentions the words "first date." He knows they aren't really dating... Heaven's sake, they just met each other a while ago. Percy even used her to get past the annoying couples, and then played around for a little bit. He brought her to the lake to flex on her--yes, that is the ugly truth. Things turned to another, until he found himself in this very moment, staring at the beautiful lady in front of him.
As much as he loves to please her, he finds it more fun to rile her up. It shows her color. In a way, for Percy, Jelly becomes much more vibrant when she shows her stubbornness. When she shows her strength.
He does not speak more, just lets her reassure him this time. Her words eases him, at the same times makes him worried. The smile on his face fades ever so slightly as the girl continues. He isn't really the most sympathetic person out there. He grew up in relative ease, sheltered and protected, so he can not put himself into anyone's shoes. He does not know what pain felt, especially at an early age. So it is a little hard for him to grasp that life had be unfair for such a young lady.
Some people just had it a bit harder.
He chooses to remain silent for a while, even as she blushes and looks away. Cute. Even as she scratches and leans on the backrest of the chair. Adorable. Suddenly she is shy, and it makes Percy tilt his head slightly to the side. He is curious, but more than that, he wants Jelly to feel better. He wants to know more about her. "You can tell me," the boy softly says. "I'll listen."
From the corner of his eyes he could see their orders being placed on the counter, and a waitress putting the beverages and the cake on a tray. Their orders are about to arrive. Percy purses his lips, then asks, out of the blue, "Do you think, if you haven't made those mistakes, you would still be here?"

Shoot an apple off my head and a Trouble that can't be named A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing Confusion that never stops The closing walls and the
At first, she is serious while talking about her past. But all of a sudden, she is shy around him, scratching the back of her head and blushing red like she always does. Percy doesn't seem to mind, though. It already seems like he enjoys watching her being shy. And while Jelly finds that preposterous, she doesn't have a say over the matter. It's her own fault for getting into her shy messiness, anyway.
Percy tells her he doesn't mind, and asks to tell him more. She absolutely must refuse. With a shake of her head, she sighs and closes her eyes. "...That was just a glimpse, Percy. I don't feel compelled to tell you more." She then shrugs with a sad smirk. "It's not like there's anything more I have to tell you, anyway."
Her eyes land on the counter and she sees their orders being prepared by the female bartender. All of a sudden, she is excited. The chocolate milk tea and cake she had been craving is almost here! She is about to say something, a large smile on her face, but quickly, it falters once Percy suddenly asks her a question out of the blue. It's a sudden one, something she is not ready to answer even if she has prepared something for it.
...True... what would it have been for her right now if she hadn't run away from home so long ago?
Percy's question is about her mistakes, and what impact would it be in her life if she hadn't made them. However, her mind lingers somewhere else. She'd made more faults than anyone could have ever known, but all this was a product of her parents' treatment. At least, that's what she always thought.
...so she closes her eyes and smiles softly. "...Maybe I wouldn't." It was not the clearest answer she could give. But mistakes always happen, don't they...? "If I hadn't made any mistakes, I could just be most as well be staying back to where I had originally came from, lazing around. Mistakes are kind of a bad thing, but they take you to where you are now. So you could learn from them." She adds, tilting her head slightly.
"Without them, I wouldn't have learned my lessons."

Percy would have to admit he feels... rejected... when Jelly refuses. He is in no position to judge a young lady whether she is telling the truth or not--that there are no more to know. Percy politely nods and drops the subject. If the girl does not want to share, then Percy would not force her. These sort of things come in their own time. A time Percy definitely wants to come.
He nods. Jelly makes a good point. Still, he has to disagree. "I think... I think that whatever you choose, you would still end up here. Whatever you do, even if you turn back time, I think the future is set. I think of life as death, you know. We all live to die, and whatever way we live our lives, it would ultimately end up to death... Okay well, that took an unexpected dark turn, hasn't it." Percy purses his lips as he tries to lighten the mood.
"But yeah, that's what I think. I also think that's our order right there," Percy says, veering off-topic. He is looking at the counter, with a familiar chocolate cake and chocolate milk tea. Jelly's order. His bread and vanilla frappe is being placed too, in the same tray. It's only a matter of time before his name is called. Percy stands and bows slightly to Jelly as he excuses himself to get the tray. "Be right back."
The delicious aroma hits Percy before he even gets near enough the counter to pick up the tray. The chocolate cake smells amazing. The Spanish bread, too. There's some fresh cheese on top, which is all Percy is for. He walks so much slower back to the table, then carefully sets the food and beverages on it. "There you go, madam," he says as he slides the choco cake and choco milk tea to the side of the pink-haired witch, who is coincidentally his date for tonight, too. Tonight? Yep, the sun has already set.
[newclass=.comehome]margin-top:-128px;-webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 4px 1px #BFBFBF;box-shadow: 1px 1px 4px 1px #BFBFBF;[/newclass] [newclass=.baddisease]-webkit-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;position:relative; z-index:1;opacity:0;[/newclass] [newclass=.everywakingmoment:hover .baddisease]opacity:1;-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;[/newclass]
Percy does not force her to tell him about her past, and she is grateful for that. Everything about her family is a private thing. She is the daughter of two witches whose works are so vigorous, they slowly went mad. She had fallen a victim of their abuse for too long. They are not the most pleasant of people to talk about, in a cafe of all places... as silent as it is. Plus, it would probably be most unsettling for Percy. So once he nods, she forgets about the subject, moving on.
He expresses his opinion on the question he had asked her earlier; of course, Percy's words have a point, but she is quite confused with the idea of Fate having written everything in order for them even before they are born. Was it Fate's part of the play to have her being abused by her mother and father? Does it involve her truly running away to live a new life in Sundial? It certainly puzzles her in a way. But she's reclined to accept everything. She nods at his words, but there are no words to confirm her agreement.
While he speaks, though, he points out to their orders now being set on a tray just at the counter. She could smell the fresh aroma of coffee from even here... and it already seems to taste very good. One could tell from the fragrance it emits. The pink-haired girl waits patiently (a very unusual feat for her) as she watches Percy approach, setting their beverages on the table. Jelly immediately grabs her cup of milktea; as expected, it's just as good as she had expected.
Jelly breathes deep, then exhales, a contented sigh escaping her lips. "Just as good as I had anticipated." This is exactly why her favorite beverage is milktea; while she had not tasted it a lot, she gets a chance of getting a drink with a few extra pennies she may have with her sometimes. Her eyes meet with Percy's and she smiles, genuinely happy. "Thank you for this."
The sun sets on the horizon, and the streets are littered with darkness; but it doesn't matter for now.

It seems he makes a good decision at letting the subject drop. He hopes, though, that at one point they would be able to talk about it, without forcing it upon one another. On the other hand, it would still be okay even if Jelly doesn't share at all--as long Percy can be with her. Why is he always like this? The boy is a romanticist at all costs. Sometimes he doubts even himself, because he's felt this so many times already, yet every single one end. Are these feelings real or not? Nothing feels real anymore--Percy is elated.
"I think it's also fate that brought us here." He speaks slowly, emphasizing the words. "I'd like to believe that."
Their food and drinks are ready, then, just in time. Percy excuses himself to get them, and is quite happy to see Jelly's excited face. The girl immediately reaches for the milk tea. Percy sits down as she takes a sip. He watches for her reaction--ah, whew.
"Glad you liked it," he says, sighing in relief, followed by a big smile. "No problem at all! This place is really underrated. It's nice for them to have another patron." He reaches for his frappe and sticks the straw in. He takes a sip without stirring the drink. It's just the perfect sweetness. For a while he makes himself busy with the food. He is halfway through the first Spanish Roll when he speaks up again.
"By the way, did you know that I confused the cinnamon bread and the Spanish bread once? During my first time here I don't know anything and pointed on a cinnamon bread while saying, 'can I have Spanish bread...' Oh Merlin, you should've seen the confused look on the maid's face, I swear you could see question marks on her eyes," he smiles slightly at the fond memory. It's been almost a year since.
[newclass=.comehome]margin-top:-128px;-webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 4px 1px #BFBFBF;box-shadow: 1px 1px 4px 1px #BFBFBF;[/newclass] [newclass=.baddisease]-webkit-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;position:relative; z-index:1;opacity:0;[/newclass] [newclass=.everywakingmoment:hover .baddisease]opacity:1;-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;[/newclass]
Fate makes the rules now, at least for Percy. Jelly disagrees to his statement, however, but she does not argue, and instead nods in acknowledgement as she does not have anything more to say for the matter. She does not really believe that Fate controls the destinies of everyone; she always believes of destinies written by the hands of people who partake in this event. But then again, Percy's opinions are different. She is in no place to judge.
It would be an understatement to say she was more than excited once their orders have finally been placed; she takes the chocolate milk tea and cake without any hesitation, and she does not notice the smile that Percy seems to wear. She takes on a bite of the cake and she compliments the cafe's exquisite work; Percy mentions his position as patron to this very cafe, and she smiles at this with a giggle. Jelly can certainly see that.
She listens as Percy relates to how he'd confused Spanish bread and the cinnamon bread, all while eating her chocolate cake. She's could relate to this situation many times; some things are just to be confused with somethings else, and it gets complicated from there. She laughs as he talks about the waitress' reaction to his request, almost choking on her chocolate cake. Even with how unfortunate it may be to experience such event, it's still one fit for a good laugh.
"That's... that's just hilarious and unfortunate that I feel sorry for you both," She says, trying to stifle her laughter. "I get your situation a whole lot, however. You confuse one thing for something else, and you end up blurting it out without even thinking at what you're looking at. Trust me, you're not the only one who's had this case." She adds, stirring the chocolate tea with her straw, staring at the brown liquid, clearly deep in thought.

Percy has almost forgotten this feeling. It isn't very special, but hot damn hasn't it been too long since the last time he has actually relaxed and indulged in the simple joys of life. It feels nice to just sit here and talk about nonsense and share stories while eating good food with good company. Jelly laughs and Percy joins her, and in that exact moment everything seems perfect. Percy never wants it to end.
Suddenly, he is seeing what his parents probably saw way back then, when they're offered to take the Adept Tests of their own covens. His father dropped his duties as a Knight without citing much detail. His mother consulted the Leviathan head before ultimately deciding to quit, too. Perhaps, to them, being with each other is much greater height, as it fulfilled the heart because the heart is all that matters.
Percy can see it now.
"Oh, all this time I thought I was special," he remarks jokingly, "in my own kind of way. It happened again quite a few times before I memorize their menu. That's why the hostess knew me--I was a major goof."
There is a pause as both parties focuses on their food once more. Percy's still smiling as he finishes the bread, taking a sip of the milk tea to chug the food down. He raises his gaze then, to see Jelly seemingly deep in thought. What a swing of mood, Percy thinks to himself. He remains silent, pretending that he's doing something else. But alas, there's only so much you can do in this kind of setup.
It would increasingly become awkward the longer the silence stretches on.
[newclass=.comehome]margin-top:-128px;-webkit-box-shadow: 1px 1px 4px 1px #BFBFBF;box-shadow: 1px 1px 4px 1px #BFBFBF;[/newclass] [newclass=.baddisease]-webkit-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;position:relative; z-index:1;opacity:0;[/newclass] [newclass=.everywakingmoment:hover .baddisease]opacity:1;-webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-moz-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-ms-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;-o-transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;transition: all 0.5s ease-in-out;[/newclass]
Life is clearly the meanest of all things, Jelly once thought. It still is, even with Percy making her smile for some time. She's seen what life has done to her parents, and she's experienced what they had done to her because of life's problems. It made her run away, and never return. She never wants to experience the dark life again. It's all that was ever offered to her when she was young; a life of torture and humiliation.
But she moves to Sundial, and now at least life has been a little nicer. She enters Leviathan and becomes one witch in a coven, and at present she is now a novice with a cause for her coven. She meets only few people, but it's all worth it. She remembers the very first person she has ever met in this city; that old woman, who took her in and raised her as her own. Because of her, she still stands in one piece. Happiness is still absent, but the more people she meets, the better.
Percy is one of those people who make her feel better. And that's why she likes being with him.
Percy had spoken awhile ago, as he describes himself being special in his own way, and a small laugh escaped her lips. "Well... everyone is special in their own way, Percy." She stated once he finished talking. "Being a goof, though... I could say that needs a little improvement in itself right there, but then again... that's still being 'special', isn't it?" She added with another laugh.
Then she returns to her thoughtful self again, not speaking but simply staring at her cup, deep in thought. Happiness couldn't be bought, that was clear. Even with the scent of milk tea and a friend just sitting opposite as to where you are in one table, one could simply not find happiness that easily, especially when you've been a sad person for almost all your life.
But they make it worthwhile.
She notices him being silent as well, just like she was, and she looks at him, meeting brown eyes... and then she laughs. "Oh boy... you really are a goof." She says, still laughing, all with a raised eyebrow.

"Goofy, right," Percy says. "I used to goof around so much during my first year living alone. The freedom is just too inviting. That doesn't last long, though, since my savings ran out shortly after." The good, old days, when Percy is just a measly eighteen year-old. Now he's 20 and to be honest he hasn't improved that much. When Jelly mentions that being a goof is one of Percy's redeeming qualities, it makes him smile wide. But it also gets him thinking--what are his special qualities, really? Now that Percy thinks about it, he can almost think of... none... Well, that is kind of worrying. Percy has never really stood out in a crowd before. He is not the the brightest crayon in the box, at the same time he is not really mediocre. He's sort of standing in between two worlds--excelling, but not so much.
He is also not the funniest person around. In fact, he doesn't really know how to entertain people--as in to make them laugh. He is also not... and also not so much... The more Percy thinks about it, the more he realizes that he doesn't really leave much of a mark.
He, too, falls silent, after realizing such a thing. He is not sad or anything, rather he's being contemplative of his state. Is he satisfied? Or does he want more? Jelly speaks, then, and when Percy meets her brown eyes, he has decided.
He is going to be a better version of himself. Of course that doesn't have any underlying meaning, not at all. Not while looking at Jelly, nope. "And you are too kind to me," Percy manages to say. "I suppose. That's what I noticed."

Percy relates his goofiness to her, and she listens intently. What he'd experienced is surprisingly, what she'd gone through as well after her escape from home. The death of the old woman who'd took her in allowed her to be rambunctious, reckless, and spend money on the things she had never experienced before. It was then she'd realized the presence of financial problems, so she'd stopped by the age of 15. "...I've been through the same thing," She states, indecisively; she isn't too sure if she should say something of the matter. "Indeed, when I've finally gotten out of my parents' grasp, it all suddenly felt relieving to me, knowing I'd do things on my own."
It's funny how she's now 17 and is still remembering things from her past. Her abusive parents tried to shape her into a decent woman like they'd wished she would, but she'd gotten out of the house before they could get their hands on her. The old woman who'd taken her in taught her a lot of things, more than her parents' ever could; the values she'd taught her shaped Jelly into becoming who she is, and through her words she finally sees through the eyes of a woman who's experienced enough of what life has to offer.
She is familiar with how the world works. Jelly has made the best of it by being the best child to that old woman as she could. At her death, she grieved for what had happened and realizes that she is all on her own now. That old woman has taught her enough to survive. So she does, working hard to climb on the ranks. But while in that state of mind she's grown quite rebellious, disobeying the laws she'd made for her own until the mistake is made which will make her stop what she's doing eventually.
Jelly changes, but only a little bit. She is still that pink-haired girl who still has to explore more of what the world wants to give her.
Her eyebrows widen in surprise to Percy's compliment. No, she isn't. She's cold and grumpy and would not want anyone to go near her unless she chose otherwise. "...I've never been too kind." She tells the young man, opposed to his statement. "How did I treat you when you took me to the lake again?" She asks rather teasingly, but it's true. She hadn't trusted him before she'd seen this side of him before, so he must be wrong.
Jelly hopes he isn't, though. But she knows it's far from the truth.

Percy still wants to climb the ranks. He still wants to be the strongest witch. He still wants to prove his parents wrong--that he does not need to sacrifice anything in order to achieve everything. Meeting Jelly today doesn't change any of that. In fact, her presence makes him want to prove himself more to her. To himself. Her impact...
( In the familiar world, Seraph ponders. She watches her witch fall head over heels over a girl she just met, which does not surprise her. He has always been like this. The flings he had within the short span of two years--Ling, Juliet, and many others in between--have all been fine girls, yet Percy only found their companies entertaining for a short while. )
"It's so liberating at first. But then, it gets kind of lonely, living alone. I kind of miss them, to be honest. I'm not sure if they would be proud of what I have achieved so far. They don't necessarily approve of the path I'd chosen--that is, you know, being a full-fledged witch." Percy's parents are probably enjoying their child-free life at this very moment, and Percy is happy for them. With the situation in Salem these days, he is kind of... relieved, that his parents weren't involved with Leviathan, or Helios Knights now. All these dead people coming back to life, these people dying in their very dreams has Percy spooked out.
The young man grimaced at being reminded about the lake. Jelly had stayed as far away from him as possible. She clung to him for life, totally not trusting his antiques not believing any of the reassurances he said. He enjoyed being at the bottom of the lake, but Jelly? He is not really sure. She has looked at her strangely when they resurfaced, and Percy's heart kind of sank, then.
( Your fault, Seraph sighs, letting her witch hear. )
'I know, right?' Percy says back to Seraph. "Uh, well," Percy says, scratching the back of his neck. "That was so bad of me... But the fishes are cute, aren't they?" he asks, desperately trying to salvage the conservation, looking at jelly hopefully.

Liberty. It's a fun thing to talk about, especially at moments when you are down and discouraged. In the past, liberty was a foreign word to her. But she realizes, just now, that her parents had kept her from understanding and pursuing it before. She ponders to herself while Percy speaks, taking note of his own experiences. Well, if it had been her parents seeing her through until now, then they wouldn't be happy at all with her choices. But the old woman -- who is now in the grave -- is the one who took her in, raised her to become wiser, so it was a different story.
Jelly does understand the thought of loneliness, living all alone. "...Yes, it certainly is lonely being free to an extent. Especially when you miss loved ones." She agrees, taking another bite of her chocolate cake. Her freedom was welcomed, but just as resented. Her old woman was there with her no longer. It was only her left on her own to fend for herself.
...But she supposes it is all the more better. If old woman had still been around, then she would not have been at peace watching as Jelly returns from the dangerous missions she is assigned to. Perhaps it is better to have her rest in peace without anything more to worry about, than have her stressing out about her missions and progress in the present day.
Leaving her thoughts, she smiles at Percy warmly as he seems to be discouraging himself. "Well... your achievements necessarily do not have to concern them, right?" She asserts, picking at her chocolate while staring at him. "It's fine to miss those you love, but if they were truly proud of you, they would be running here to congratulate you and your success."
They turn to the subject of Jelly's apparent kindness -- Percy suddenly looks rather doubtful, scratching his head as he tries to confirm if she'd found the fishes cute. Jelly giggles a little, attempting to cover her laughter with her fist, for she hasn't expected Percy to be reacting like this. "Percy, the fishes were cute, I'll tell you that. But it was me who was at the wrong back there, so why are you acting like this?"
She looks down at her plate and realizes that she's run out of it. "Aww... no more cake." She whines, rather childishly, and looks out the streets. More people are walking in the dimly lit streets, surprisingly, at this time of the young night. "It's getting dark out, though. You want to stay here a little longer?"
