this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Birds tweeted sweetly from places high above him. Something about the cool misty mornings always left him in awe and Xuan tended to the various flowers and herb growing in his garden, catching the last few whiffs of the unique of water and an inkling of earth in the mist before the sun broke the horizon completely.
A flap of wings and he almost screamed before he realised the weight on his shoulder was too light to be a hand or any form of magic. A pigeon stared back at him perched happily on his shoulder. He gave an exasperated sigh before turning back to work. Soon, a fellow sparrow joined their companion and settled on his head. He rolled his eyes to the heavens before pointedly ignoring the coos and chirps coming from all sides.
Xue Mei was lounging on the porch watching the birds on him with one eye and the feigning sleep with the other closed. You're not going to catch the birds like that, Xue Mei. He laughed as he found himself at the receiving end of a pointed icy glare by his familiar. He lifted his hands in surrender, the birds adjusting to his movement.
Says the one that nearly doused himself in Aphrodite's potion this morning. Came the short reply followed by a huff. Xuan saw her snap her jaws threateningly at birds in the corner of his eyes and admired the two birds not even reacting to the irritated predator on the porch.
Suddenly the birds took off into the air leaving a surprise Xuan staring after them. She's here. Xue Mei stated, letting out a yawn before going back to sleep. He turned towards the front of the house spotting the raven-haired girl coming towards him.
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown yet longed for still.
Xuan Jin was a curious man that Yvella does not know what to make of-- but somehow the employer-employee relation had gained wings. She did not reject the notion but welcomed it; If anything, the Helios Knights have taught her the values of connections. Hate the sin but love the sinner, or so they say. Severa rolled her eyes at her- it is one human gesture the panther has honed to an art form. I bet you’d commit every sin to get what you want, the panther hissed. Yvella shrugged. I do not want anything at all, she said.
The conversation ended at that, like it always did. There was nothing to want. Events just seemed to unf0ld before her. And that was somehow enough. For now, Severa said (and Yvella prayed that she was right). Yvella found the house quite easily, but she was surprised to see Xuan out in the garden.
“Hello,” she said, waving a slender arm from behind the fence. She walked towards it with grace, but her eyes only met his once before whisking themselves away- uncertain. "Making the most of the wonderful weather?”
Severa was the one who pushed open the gate, tail twitching as she enabled Yvella’s entrance. She sat down to keep the fence open and licked her paw lazily. “It’s good to see you two again,” said the panther. “...is what Yvella means to say, anyway."
She offers him a playful wink before her eyes scan the garden in search of Xue Mei.
A smile immediately appeared on his lips, a condition reponse honed into him more than of his own expression. Xuan took in the nervousness of her voice, laughing a little inside. It was a quiet part of neighbourhood, people greeted eachother with a nod. The sun was slowly rising up through the sky, hinting at a wonderful day and she was feeling uneasy.
At least some people have the natural instinct to know that some things hide in plain sight. He sighed, putting down the trowel getting ready to calm down whatever unease he's caused when Severa spoke.
He chuckles, pulling off the gloves and grabs the basket full of produce and herbs he had harvested. "It's good to see you too, Yvella. My morning has been quite-" Xuan paused, noting that his familiar had disappeared behind the door, leaving the birds free to perch on his head again. He rolled his eyes to the heavens again as the ever-persistent cooing starts again. "-well."
