Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Since the staff cannot possibly think of all types of techniques for all the elements, members are encouraged to create techniques for use around the site. For example a master witch at best can still only use techniques at the adept level while anyone novice or less uses them at a fledgling level. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Forced Rain affinity: Water description: The witch funnels a large amount of mana into the clouds above them to cause it a localized rain on a much weaker scale than that of the elements of insight. This heightens all other water based spells as long as it is raining. Requires access to the sky or clouds. modification permission: yee

name of technique: Bloody Needle affinity: Water description: Requires the bloodletter skill. Allows the witch to harden their blood and expand it outward into a spike like protrusion. The distance and hardness are determined by the amount of blood used and skill of the witch. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Crystal Barrier affinity: Earth description: Requires the crystallize skill. The witch raises crystals or throws crystals onto the ground below and charges them with their mana to create a weak barrier against magical attacks. Larger and stronger barriers require more crystals and thus more mana to be expended. The crystals will stop glowing when the mana is used up. modification permission: yee

name of technique: Elemental Mastery: Absolute Zero affinity: Ice description: An intense discharge of frigid mana slows down all mana in the area to a near haul. Witches of a similar level or above of the caster will find their spells in the area at half or less effectiveness. Those below the caster often cannot use spells at all. Ice spells receive and increase in power the closer they are to the center of the spell. ICE BEAM
Technique - Ice
The witch shoots out a beam of frigid mana causing ice to form across the surface of wherever it touches. The stronger the witch the thicker and heavier the ice that will form.

Technique - Ice
The witch causes a large tower of ice to rise up from below them, with sharp spikes that jut out like branches on a tree. The stronger the witch the larger the tower.

BLACK CHAINS
Technique - Darkness
The witch solidifies darkness with their mana, creating black chain bindings which can be adjusted in length by the witch. They’re often attached to the legs or feet of the enemy like shackles and used to yank them off their feet, tie them down to the ground, or pull them close.

BLACK NEEDLE
Technique - Darkness
Quickly creates a thin, piercing shadow protruding from any one of the witch’s hands or feet. It’s not very long, and is mostly used in order to draw blood from an opponent for other uses such as binding magic or blood magic.

HIDDEN BLADE
Technique - Darkness
The witch quickly hardens part of their own shadow, using mana to create a blade with one of their strikes. The shadow can either be thrown like a throwing knife or thrust like an assassin’s blade, quickly stabbing its target before vanishing, leaving behind no trace. The stronger the witch, the stronger this blade and longer it can be maintained.

ASHES TO ASHES
Technique - Fire
The witch uses a quick, high powered burst of mana on an object causing it to crumble to ash. Requires direct contact with the object and can only be used on inorganic material. Magical items tend to be much more difficult to disintegrate than mundane objects.

name of technique: Flying Thunderbolt affinity: Air description: Requires the static field skill. The witch transforms their body into electricity for a split second allowing for them to quickly change positions almost like teleporting. While in electric form their body will naturally attract to metals so will find it easier to transport towards any metallic object. High amounts of metallic objects increase the mana requirement exponentially as the body will try to go in many different directions at once. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Running of the Bulls affinity: Ice description: The witch creates copies of their familiar out of ice that rush towards their target and explode into ice shards when close. The creations can also be detonated by the witch with an extra jolt of mana. The stronger the witch the more creations the witch can create. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Ice Garden: Rose Chains affinity: Ice description: The witch uses a their mana to create ice chains in the form of rose plants. As with the namesake plants the chains of this spell have icy thorns dig into those chained by it. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Hard Light: Copy Creation affinity: Light description: The witch creates a copy of a weapon they have seen or possess within the current thread. Any special attack or ability is replicated to the best of the users ability with a light based magic copy of it like a sword beam or magical arrows. Things like curses or unique abilities are unable to be copied. Projectiles will also be created so things like arrows will continually spawn as long as they have mana. modification permission: yee

name of technique: Shadow Armor affinity: Darkness description: The user wears their shadow like armor increasing their defensive abilities at the cost of mana. While I’m place it looks like their bodies are shrouded in shadows. They will not cast any visible shadow while this spell is active. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Shadow Claw affinity: Darkness description: The witch uses darkness to create shadow like claws on their hands and/or feet. Allows for increased mobility with climbing as well as increase damage while attacking. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Force of Shadow affinity: Darkness description: The witch creates a ball of dark mana and is able to throw or force it at a single direction creating a knock back effect. The larger the amount of darkness in the area the stronger the knock back effect. modification permission: yee

name of technique: Flame Sealing Space affinity: Air description: The user uses their mana to deprive a small area of all oxygen. All non magical fire will vanish upon use. Magical fire will find itself weakened or slowed in progression while in this space. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Sunlight Shot affinity: Light description: A small blast of light that violently explodes in a blinding light when it hits a target. Can cause temporary blindness depending on the strength of the witch. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Cold Compress affinity: Ice description: The witch can numb the effects of burns, fevers and pain by placing a razor thin layer of ice on an effected area. The effect looks like slight frost on grass, barely perceptible. Extended use can cause degradation of skin cells causing additional burns. modification permission: yee

name of technique: Phoenix Recovery: Destruction affinity: Fire description: The user cloaks an injury in fire magic, burning away any lingering poison or maladies while cauterizing any bleeding. Can cause burns if used improperly. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Phoenix Recovery: Rebirth affinity: Fire description: The user cloaks an injury in fire magic using the heat to stimulate cellular regeneration. Small cuts and surface injuries are able to be remedied with this spell. Internal injuries and blunt force trauma are not. Works on mild to moderate wounds depending on the witches strength. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Screech of the Lightning Dragon affinity: Air description: The witch ionizes the mana in their mouth and releases it to form a strong static force to create lightning. Requires access to lightning magic. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Crystal Extraction affinity: Earth description: The witch uses a crystal and forces mana into it while touching a target. The crystal will absorb any poisonous material within itself growing black. Poison will be preserved within the crystal for further study. Often used as first aid to reduce the amount of poison within a target until help can arrive. Weak poisons will be totally cured while stronger require other magic to assist as it will only slow it down. modification permission: yee

name of technique: Dry Ice affinity: Ice description: The witch freezes a small amount of mana to a temperature below that of normal ice which causes a thick mist to envelop the area when said ice is exposed to the warmer air around it. The amount of mist and thickness of it is dependent on the strength of the witch. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Murderer of the Misty Night affinity: Ice description: The witch uses dry ice to create a thick mist that will mask their presence muffling all sound and visibility of the caster as long as they remain in the mist. The user is still susceptible to being found through other means such as magical detection or other magic based locating. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Icescape Artist affinity: Ice description: The witch can use this spell to create a doppelgänger when struck to take the hit for them made of ice. The witch is propelled in one direction upon the strike connecting using up a large portion of their mana upon use. The amount of times this spell can be used is dependent on the strength of the witch with novice witches only being able to use it once while masters can use it a few times before being exhausted. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Preying Mantis Slice affinity: Darkness description: A witch cloaks the side if their hand in dark magic allowing for a chopping motion having the strength skin to that of a blade. The stronger the witch the stronger the strike. modification permission: yee name of technique: Bee Sting Step affinity: Darkness description: The witch creates black bee like clouds that swarm around the battle field. The witch can use their mana to swap places with each of these clouds as a form of quick teleportation. The bee swarms have a paralyzing toxin in them to help slow down the enemy when they are attacked. BLAST OF THE WICKED WITCH
Technique - Darkness
The witch creates a large blast of black energy outwards from their hands. Any person or creature with a natural sleep cycle who is hit has the sudden urge to fall asleep. This compulsion becomes stronger relative to the caster's strength, as well as the number of times the target is hit by this technique.

MAGIC MIRROR ON THE WALL
Technique - Darkness
The witch creates a small, oozy puddle of shadow that can be used as a temporary mirror link for communication. It can only be used for short ranged communication, like a walkie talkie.

ETERNAL BLAZE: HELLFIRE
Technique - Fire
A light blue flame creeps up from the ground as if it is trying to pull its victims down to hell from the earth below. This fire does significant damage to beings that lack (or are said to lack) a soul, like wraiths. It is also strong enough to bypass most anti-fire resistances, including those of the same witch who cast this spell. It does not spread like normal blazes, continuing to burn from the Earth until dispelled.

AVATAR STATE
Technique - Light
Creates a column of light that can suspend anything caught within it in midair, providing a limited antigravity effect within its influence. The size and power of this effect vary depending on the magical strength of the witch, with novices only hovering lightly off the ground, and masters securely trapping opponents in suspension.

ICE-CALIBUR
Technique - Ice
This technique forms a powerful ice sword that discharges such an intense amount of cold that it is able to shatter metal that it comes in contact with like glass, assuming the caster has sufficient magical skill and physical strength. The sword can only lasts for a couple of hits before it itself will shatter.

RISING GEYSER
Technique - Water
The witch creates a large blast high pressure water and steam from the ground below. The steam is a thick, white color which obscures vision, and is hot enough to potentially cause burns.

BUDDAH'S HEAVENLY LIGHT
Technique - Light
The witch creates a large blast of light with themselves at the center. This light is highly blinding by the nature of its element, but has the added benefit of being highly damaging to extraplanar creatures like wraiths. It is said that an exceptionally powerful witch can even vaporize an entire hoard of wraiths in an area with a single spell. This does not physically damage humans nor other native creatures.

SOLID LIGHT: CHAINS
Technique - Light
The witch uses their mana to create solid-light ribbon chain bindings, which can be shortened or lengthened at the will of the witch. These are often attached to the legs or feet of the enemy like fetters, used to either whip them around, tie them down, or pull them close.

SOLID LIGHT: LEVITATION
Technique - Light
An alternate version of "stairway to heaven". Allows the witch to create a single, small platform which they control using their mana. Allows the witch a version of levitation by moving said platform with their magic. The more powerful the witch, the larger and faster the platform can move. When used in conjunction with "stairway to heaven," multiple platforms can be created and moved around at once.

SOLID LIGHT: PRISON
Technique - Light
The witch solidifies a thin layer of light to create a sort of makeshift box around a target, which is transparent enough for light, darkness, and other vision-based spells to pass through. The witch controls the size of this entrapment using a similarly-conjured, hand-sized cube which they hold. The stronger the witch, the sturdier the walls of the prison and the more control they have over the aspect of size manipulation, with masters being able to shrink the box until it crushes the thing inside. The feeling of walls caving in can be a terrifying experience.

ANGEL'S TOUCH: HEALING HANDSADV
Technique - Light
The witch uses the light in the surrounding area to supercharge the cell division of their target's body, allowing the witch to heal major wounds and halt bleeding. It cannot attach limbs or regrow them, but it can close large wounds and heal quite a bit depending on the strength of the witch. The more life threatening the wound, the more likely the witch will suffer from mana exhaustion. The witch must be within a few feet of those they are healing with closer proximity creating a stronger effect.

BLOOD CRADLE
Technique - Water
Allows the witch to harden their blood like steel and and use it like armor. Requires an open cut or wound and uses mana constantly while active.

CRYSTAL PRISON
Technique - Earth
The witch raises crystals or throws crystals onto the ground around a target to encircle them. Creates a mana barrier using the crystals as a focal point. The prison is not visible unless struck, and will cause a mild shock and knockback to anyone who tries to escape. If the crystals are broken or moved to far away, the prison will be destroyed.

BRICK KNUCKLES
Technique - Earth
Allows the witch to call on earth in its various forms to reinforce physical, unarmed attacks. The use of this by less experienced witches may result in damage to themselves due to the hard nature of this element. Commonly used in street fighting.

HAIR MASTER
Technique - Ice
The witch uses ice to harden their hair or other similar fibers (scarves, cloth, etc) to the level of steel to block attacks or use as a weapon. This technique's name comes from a witch who would harden her hair into spears and manipulate them to impale her opponents.

ROCKET BLAST
Technique - Fire
The witch ejects mana from their hands and/or feet to propel themselves forward or slow the descent of their body like a human rocket. Using this technique for long periods of time has been known to cause severe burns and mana exhaustion.

EXPLODING BLOOD
Technique - Fire
Allows the witch to hear up their own blood to the point it sparks aflame. Cannot be used on others' blood while it is still in contact with their bodies and, while violent, the flames die quickly as the blood turns to ash.

Elemental Skill - Fire
The witch can use molten lava rather than flames for their fire-based techniques. This gives their attacks more substance and physical force, at the cost of movement speed.

Technique - Darkness
The witch creates a large black dog with their magic which devours any heat or light based spells such as fire magic or light magic and reprocesses it into mana for the creator. A physical, leash-like link is maintained with the witch to give them the stored mana, and will release any excess stored mana into the area if destroyed.

SKILL: AFRAID OF THE DARKADV
Elemental Skill - Darkness
The witch adds a fear curse to their darkness attacks, which increases likelihood of more mentally or emotionally vulnerable enemies fleeing or freezing in a fight. Unfortunately, allies are not fully immune to this effect.

TOTAL CONCENTRATION BREATHING
Technique - Air
The witch uses mana to the augment their oxygen intake and lung capacity for a short duration. This allows for the witch to hold their breath for a longer period of time. It can also be used to increase their heart rate and speed of their reflexes because of the increased oxygen in their body.

WINDBLOWN
Technique - Air
Allows a witch to create a vacuum that sucks towards themselves. The strength and range of the attack is dependent on the witch's experience. In its weaker form the technique is only capable of knocking over targets and making it harder for them to stand their ground. At its strongest this technique is capable of pulling targets and large objects forward.

A witch is able to compress the air around a target. Can be used to crush objects, strangle opponents, break wrists, etc. Note that the area of effect is limited, and can usually only effect one to two people at a time.

Technique - Air
A witch sends mana into the surrounding area, leading to an increase in pressure. Objects become seemingly heavier and targets have a harder time moving. The strength and range of the attack is dependent on the witch's experience. Extremely advanced witches are capable of almost completely immobilizing targets and "freezing" the battle field. Headaches occur as a side effect. Those using this technique are not immune to its effect, making its usefulness questionable. If used in conjunction with "Invisible Air" a witch can offset its effects.

The size of the creation depends on the strength of the witch with novices staying around their same size with masters being able to dwarf small houses. modification permission: yee
name of technique: Shadow Silk affinity: Darkness description: Creates thin but surprisingly strong strings of shadow like the Shadow Stitching spell but with much more tensile strength and length. Able to suspend a human body in the air or for Spider-Man like maneuvering. Bright light will dispel the shadows. Allows the witch to heal large gashes and internal damage at the cost of the users mana and stamina. Requires access to the ground to work. This condense mana and heat energy creates a miniature star which rapidly rotates pulling in anything not nailed down into itself with its gravitational pull. It also promotes mana recovery for any witches within its light. It creates a strong beam of light with a slash or attack light the typical sword beam seen in tv shows.
