Their physical stats (if he did the math right) should have been better than his last set in terms of balance and force output. Unfortunately, having just added the finishing touches this morning, the crafter didn't have much time to fully test run his new limbs before the start of the last day of the Empyreal Cup, and there was no way he was going to miss that party regardless of whether he had functioning legs or not.
It went without saying that the main headquarters of the Knights was the place he'd most likely need a quick escape route from, so he had preemptively altered a handful of nearby doorways and window frames for his own use. It took just a couple of gate jumps to reach the Helios Knights' stadium, which was already roaring with excitement before the real duel even began. Instead of struggling against the flow of people inside, he decided to hang back and grab a bite to eat instead.
Just as he got a couple of skewers of dragon wings (which he was fairly sure was just chicken meat with an ungodly amount of spices), he heard a familiar name called by a familiar voice. Both the crafter and his familiar's heads whip around towards the source.
"Isn't Billy supposed to be getting ready for the duel?"
"Isn't Heath supposed to be takin' it easy after gettin' fuckin' gored?"
Witch and familiar give each other a synchronized glance before heading over. It didn't take long to spot them, and the crafter was just glad they were both in one piece and human-looking. Is it a problem when your first instinct upon seeing your friends or family is to check for new wounds from ill-advised adventures? Nah... it was probably fine.
" 'Ey, Champion, I brought your only fangirl t' watch your fight," Zeph calls to them as fangirl-Spock stands on his shoulder and waves enthusiastically with a toothy grin.

The moment Alice appeared, she was appealed to by all three to settle the question, and they repeated their arguments to her, though, as they all spoke at once, she found it very hard indeed to make out exactly what they said.
The executioner's argument was, that you couldn't cut off a head unless there was a body to cut it off from: that he had never had to do such a thing before, and he wasn't going to begin at his time of life. The King's argument was, that anything that had a head could be beheaded, and that you weren't to talk nonsense. The Queen's argument was, that if something wasn't done about it in less than no time she'd have everybody executed, all round. (It was this last remark that had made the whole party look so grave and anxious.)
Alice could think of nothing else to say but "It belongs to the Duchess: you'd better ask her about it."
"She's in prison," the Queen said to the executioner: "fetch her here." And the executioner went off like an arrow.
The Cat's head began fading away the moment he was gone, and, by the time he had come back with the Dutchess, it had entirely disappeared; so the King and the executioner ran wildly up and down looking for it, while the rest of the party went back to the game.

Sprocket (also known as Spock) the spider monkey bonded with Zephyr shortly after the burning of his home when he was eight years old, much earlier in his life than is typical for a familiar. Seeing as her twin spirit, the unrealized familiar of Zeph’s twin brother, had its link to the outer strata painfully severed by its host’s death, it’s safe to say that Zeph and Spock bonded so quickly to help fill the void of each other’s loss. (Plus, how the hell was she supposed to exist in the physical plane if her crippled orphan kid host didn’t have some elemental protection?) [break][break] In truth, Zephyr doesn’t have a lick of authority over Spock. His first and only order to her was that she should disregard any future orders — from him or anyone else — if she didn’t want to fulfill it of her own volition. Their relationship is less like master and servant or responsible business partners, and more like co-protective partners in crime. Thankfully, they have similar interests and off-kilter moral compasses, so they’re both quite happy with their current arrangement. [break][break] Although Spock does not verbally speak to other humans, she knows sign language, is capable of writing, and is incredibly experienced in expressing her disapproval by giving everyone the middle finger and threatening them with sharp objects. Spock is generally not a fan of clothes unless they serve some sort of practical purpose — otherwise, she considers them constraining and annoying.

The magical ability of this witch is not easily detected. When this witch is the target of a spell which would normally reveal their magical capabilities, the spell will falsely return that the witch’s skill is no higher than apprentice rank, that they have no permanents or active buffs, and that the witch does not have any particular affinity apart from “general” category spells (though their primary element type will still display correctly). The witch’s spells and any magical items which they create do not register as magical to city security sensors, magic-detecting abilities, and other magic-sensing alarms. Their magic does not leave a trail or mark which can be traced by athenians and other similar abilities.

The witch manipulates the rock underneath the target and pulls from it stone spears, skewering the target and effectively holding them still for a time. It uses up the mana of the witch instead of altering mana.

It is almost always used in duels.

THE MODERN ATHENIAN: NETWORKING
SCROLL - ATHENEUM
This volume was published not nearly in modern times, but still retains its original name. "Networking" is a series of scrolls which enable the athenian to quickly establish links with other non-athenians by imbuing a fragment of their interface into them mentally. The mental connection can be terminated at anytime by the receiver or the athenian, or in the event of mental strain/damage to either party. Multiple people may be linked, but all thoughts go through the athenian's interface so a novice witch will likely only be able to link a few at a time.

ATHENEUM - STORED KNOWLEDGE

An athenian with this spell is able to copy information stored in their interface into a physical object, such as a bracelet or book. This does not cause any physical change in the object, but allows the data to be freely mentally accessed by anyone in physical contact with the object. Inexperienced witches may be able to store about a page worth of facts this way, advanced practitioners may be able to store a whole book, and masters of their craft are capable of storing whole libraries. This type of data storage will not give the person in contact with the object any additional magical or otherwise trained skills, but can give them an academic/theoretical understanding of the process.

Though it seems like a simple keepsake, this item will serve as your character’s lifeline in the face of imminent peril. When the bearer’s mana reaches critical levels, all items made similarly will begin to glow as a mass signal is sent to witches of your coven, allowing them to come to your aid should anything happen. There are spells to suppress and alter memories, but very few are able to wipe them completely from the mind. This rare potion is designed to do exactly that: it completely erases all memories created within the last 24 hours from the brain of the person drinking it. An adept or higher athenian may be able to guide the effect to shift the 24 hour erasure window to even earlier memories (for example, erasing all memories from last Tuesday, rather than erasing all memories from yesterday), but this requires an awareness and chronological understanding of the target's memories.
