this is Salem, a land filled with magic and maladies. It is a place where witches and their elemental familiars gather, a home to legend and
lore that predates time itself. Yet of all the wicked and wonderful stories the past can tell us of, the most magical are the ones yet to happen.
This is Salem - this is the start of your very own journey. Welcome to starfall
Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
[attr="class","scrollz"]Why did she have to be so god damn mysterious? JP had just taken his first hit from the pipe when a small silver moth materialized in front of him. Eye to eye (more like eye to antenna), the moth looked at him for just a moment before flying out the open window and into the street, a trail of silver dust in the air flowing behind her. Grumbling, and taking one more hit before pocketing the pipe, JP followed the trail from out of his second story apartment window. He closed it before taking a running jump over the edge of the small balcony to disappear in a pink puff.
He reappeared a few feet above the ground and managed to land on his feet. Brushing himself off, he looked for the trail of silver, one that he assumed only he could see. He easily weaved between the masses that were on their lunch break simply looking for a place to eat. Apologies were many as he did bump into a few bystanders as the trail twisted and turned. Just why did she have to send him through the bustling city center during RUSH HOUR.
As JP continued on his cat and mouse chase he couldn’t help but be in awe of the famed Tower of Sundial. It was intimidating up close, the staggering size forcing one’s neck to ache as they tried to glimpse a peek of the cloud covered peak. A sliver of silver brought JP back to the missional hand and he took a sharp turn pass the tower and towards the library.
Or so he thought. Halfway between the library and tower, the trail went cold and left the bubblegum pink witch confused at a crossroads. Behind him was the ever watching tower, in front of him the famed library, and to his left… The observatory. He had yet to explore the domed building because of his hectic work schedule and general lack of motivation to do so. A flash of silver, however, gave the young man all the motivation he needed to push through the large metal doors.
Inside, he found the building mostly empty save for a sleeping man at a desk near the entrance. Not wanting to disturb him, or have to deal with maybe paying an entrance fee, JP tiptoed through the entrance hall and up some stairs, vigilantly following the shining trail. He turned a corner to come upon an unoccupied room with a large telescope and domed ceiling reaching high to the heavens. “Hello?” He called out, hoping WW would at least have the curtesy to respond after sending him on a chase that took him across the city.
There was very little reason for him to be here other than curiosity. Honestly looking up at the stars was always the most fun thing to do... though it was not very easy to do during the day. Instead he was twiddling his thumbs tending to the plants that sat around the room.
He was always good with plants. A bit of a green thumb to make up for... well not being the most pleasant person to be around some times. It wasn't that he was mean by any stretch of the imagination he was just... blunt. Sometimes he said things that he didn't mean any ill intent by and yet others took offense to it. Maybe it was the circus family atmosphere he'd grown used too where you could just say anything because it was family.
He hummed with Dr Puddy lounging around nearby. The small feline was just batting at some loose leaves on the table nearby. She didn't seem to have a care in the world... acting just like a regular cat as usual. If he hadn't known any better he'd swear she was just a dumb house pet. That was when a young man burst into the room like he was being chased. He was... strange in appearance.
"WOAH... YOU'RE PINK!" he shouted in surprise. Not of course meaning any ill content by it... but the pink was noticeable. I mean look at that hair! It was kinda cool though. Like he'd love to have colorful hair sometimes but black was hard to change easily and he was kind of lazy. He'd stick with the black.
[attr="class","scrollz"]Well now he was rosy pink. JP’s cheeks bloomed with roses of embarrassment as the unseen stranger pointed out his pinkness. He mentally berated himself for not noticing him sooner, otherwise he would have just gone searching in another room but that’s what he gets for being as high as the stars. WW was not a people person,,, err people familiar. She barely manifested to JP, he highly doubted she would have presented herself to some stranger. Even if he was a cute stranger.
He cracked a smile and offered a chuckle, running a hand through as hair as he did so. “Haha yup! Pink as the day I was born.” The cotton candy kid approached the other to get a better look at what he was doing, realizing one of the reasons he didn’t notice him. Tall leafy potted plants lined the walls as natural light blockers and the stranger was tending to them. Neat.
He peaked over the other guy’s shoulder and asked with breath as sweet as bubblegum, “So, uh, do you work here or somethin?”
Raven is definitely not in a good mood. Not in a good mood is an underestimation—Raven Delacroix is furious. "What do they mean, cancelling the taping? What a load of crap!" Fuming, she crumples the sheet and throws it back to the direction of the courier pigeon. The poor bird scuttles away, regards the huffing white-haired woman one more time before escaping the scene. It made the right choice, honestly.
"Hush now, Raven, you're being too rough to the bird. It traversed high altitudes just to reach you," Dai chides. In a blink and there is the white-tailed stag. "You can always go home, you see."
Raven rolls her eyes heavenwards and dismisses the stag's words with one swipe of her hand. "Ugh, it's a bird, Dai," Raven sarcastically replies. She makes a gesture of two flapping wings with her delicate hands. "Like this. And no, I'm not going home, not when the city is at its break. Just look at the sheer number of people from below." Raven reaches for a telescope and zooms in downwards. She could see the crowd moving from below the glass observatory. She cringes at them, knowing that one of them, surely one of them, is a paparazzi.
She takes a deep breath, her nerves begin to cool, and she resigns herself to the fact that she is free for the day. "Boring," she huffs.
"Hello?"
Raven's head whips to the direction of the voice. She waits for a while, and then another voice echoes. And suddenly, it's not so boring anymore. With a twisted smile, Raven starts towards the direction of the voices. That twisted smile shifts to a relaxed, convenient, and innocent smile.
"Well what do we have here?" she says, silky sweet, lovely and innocent. Raven regards both of them at once, tilting her head to the side. "Two strangers, one with a... peculiar skin tone? That sure is something, isn't it?"
She nears the dark-haired man and reaches to touch his arm. She subtly pulls him towards her, batting her eyelashes, before looking back at the woman. "I am very curious about you, my dear. You also, right?" she says, glancing at the man. "Is that transfiguration? I have never seen anything like it, you see.
There was so much going on and it was kind of annoying. On the plus side it was probably going to ease his boredom. He was bored so often it seemed... especially lately. Maybe it was a side effect of a broken soul?
There was a hint of bubble gum when the boy came close to him. Disgusting. His face stayed the same though, that strangely pleasant smile adorned upon it. It was fake. It was fake a lot of the time. He had been told a smile was a good way to be friendly... even if you don't mean it.
Dr Puddy was still doing her lounging as the group quickly tripled in size. There was the pink boy and a girl now. She hopped off her perch by the window and made her way over to the girl. She was purring as she tried to rub her cheeks on the girls leg. She needed attention dammit and she would get it.
"Huh???"
He was pulled by his arm by the girl so he was now closer to her. She hadn't let go of his arm and was very close. It was all so very annoying. Then again a lot of things annoyed him so it couldn't be most peoples fault he was just weird.
He put on his fake smile again after being jogged out of it by that girl grabbing him out of nowhere. It was only a few seconds of confusion but it was still strange to him. Time to play along with it though. "I'd think transfiguration like this would be hard to maintain for long periods of time. Maybe he fell into a vat of radioactive strawberries." He was of course joking but his tone was fairly monotone and serious. He was a strange one.
