Starfall is an animaga witch roleplay set in mostly modern times. Members play as witches in a world plagued by monsters, where the only safe spots are walled cities. Starfall strives to be a character-driven roleplay with expansive lore and a highly interactive plotline. We want to allow members to
create and look back on a magical journey, and mold the site and its plot as their characters grow.
Desperate to escape, the witches attempt to blast open the door. Spells hurled at the door only seem to agitate the enchantment--something they should've known from earlier. The knockerbacker is returned at the group, blasting them backwards and sending them flying in different directions. When they land, they'll notice that there is another presence their own. [break][break] In such little time, the wolf had managed to find them. Low thumps echo down the hallway, and it slowly enters the chamber, the edges of a snarl on it's lips. Orbs of light trail behind, revealing details throughout the room. [break][break]
Several piles of bones lay scattered on the floors, along with ladders that reach upwards; dozens of shelves of books line the room, from floor to ceiling, as well as assorted alchemical potions. There isn't a place in the room unmarked by a blood stain. Etched in the walls are carved words, old but foreboding. [break][break] AS LONG AS THE BLOOD OF GARETH EXISTS, SO SHALL WE. SUIXITIUM. [break][break] Light from the orbs flicker for only a couple seconds before it suddenly scatters, burning on impact when it hits Charani Petrov. Moments pass before the wolf charges at Naomi Oliver, tackling her to the ground, claws ripping at her body. [break][break] What will the witches do?

He could feel his body smack against the wall behind him. He could feel the air escape his lungs as he smacked into the rock. He could feel himself bruising as this happened. The worst part was where the light touched his body.
It felt like a virus. Like something was infecting his skin. It felt raw and terrible. He could feel where it had hit him... the shoulder and part of his left arm. It felt like someone had ripped the skin off of the area and then set it on fire. It was throbbing and akin to a dull pain amplified by the power of the sun. He could feel his skin crawling and weeping against the assault of magic. It was not a good thing. They needed to do something though. Something quickly or they'd all die.
"Shit," he said bitterly to himself. What could he do? What should he do? Maybe drop something on the wolf? He didn't have the strength to do that normally. Maybe there was something in the room he could call towards himself and position his body between it and the wolf creature so it would go through the wolf while it was on top of the girl.
He could also try the wand again. It had sort of worked last time. Maybe get near the door and the creature when it came for him would smack into the door. Break the enchantments or at least get injured by them. That seemed like an okay plan. He didn't know enough about the enchantments to get rid of them... especially if they were powerful enough to keep a creature like this in check. What could he do?
He stumbled towards the door where the enchantments were concentrated, trying to be careful not to actually touch them. He kept his body low so he could run if need be... or more than likely dodge roll like a video game character. He pointed his wand at the wolf creature and aimed just to hit. He just needed to strike it somewhere. Anywhere. Slow it down at least a little bit. General: Vibrionus would erupt from the wand aimed at the wolf. Hopefully it was busy enough with Naomi that it didn't notice until it was to late to dodge. That or she'd get a chance to attack when it did try and dodge.
------- Sums: Smacks into wall and has a burned arm/shoulder. Huffily tries to position self in front of wall of enchantments and door. Uses Vibrionus at wolf to try and burn it again. Readies self to dodge roll if he is next target in hopes of wolf smacking into enchantments to do some actual damage. There was nothing she could do.[break][break]
She might joke about specializing in breaking things, but enchantments? Little too complicated for Naomi. Hanging out in the back while the others blasted away should’ve been the safer option, but no. That’d be too nice. The universe loved to find new ways to mess everything up, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that the plan wouldn’t work. [break][break]
Not only did they all get knocked back, but hey, wolf friend is back. Naomi didn’t remember pissing off some sort of wolf god lately, but they all seemed to want to kill her these days. At least that meant the feeling was mutual. [break][break]
She tried to be smart and grabbed one of the bones lying around the creepy room. If she slightly melted one end, it might be possible to make a sharp point to stab wolf sis before anything happened. Of course, her own casting ability never stood a chance against a charging opponent. Naomi was back on the ground long before she managed to complete her little spear. [break][break]
If it were possible to yell she would have, but all of her energy was devoted towards beating the shit out of this wolf. Or at least trying to. By now she had long given up on their original purpose of saving this girl. Naomi was about to claw this things eyes out, assuming she didn’t die in the process. [break][break]
[break] Wolves suck. Naomi tried making a weapon to fight with, but is just gonna hit this thing until it dies [break]

She knows. Claire swears she knows that touching the enchantments would remain harmful, as it was last time. Claire scrapes her exposed skin as the enchantment vibrates to life and knock her back. She almost wants to laugh at the irony of the situation. She also wants to cry. But the most intense feeling yet--she wants to hit things.
Normally, Claire would appreciate any sort of light to illuminate the dark. Shelves after shelves of books begin to show, and she takes a while to make sense of the words painted in blood. Sui-suy-suixitium? Ga-Gared? Jared? Gareth? What does that mean?
The wolf lets out a roar, and Claire quickly pushes herself back to her feet. She snatches half of the portal from Cassidy and runs as far as away from the Charani, racing to get behind the wolf. "Activate the portal if you need to dodge!" Claire yells. She readies herself to pose a knockerbacker either to push the wolf to enchantments if it charges towards Charani, or to push the monstrosity away from her.
Claire, at the same time, augments her strength once more and begins to pelt the wolf sizable bones, scraps of flesh, a stack of books, the earth, anything she can get her hands on. She feels sorry about the the books, she feels like she's risking immortalized memories, stories, and history to be burnt to ashes by the orbs. But between the group's life and the book, the right choice is obvious.
She takes a moment of break, however, to activate the mana-marked necklaces she's given Zephyr and Lucena. She speaks the word and the name.
"Blood of Gareth, Suixitium. Written in the chamber. Highly-aggressive wolf out."

TL;DR Gets portal from Cassidy. Runs behind the wolf. Tells Charani Petrov to activate the portal if he needs to dodge. Prepares to use knockerbacker either to push the wolf away from her or towards the enchantments. Pelts rock to the wolf. he enchantments don't budge--they knock them away instead. Cassidy across the ground, trying her best not to cry out in pain. Any jostling or movement is painful to her battered body, and being flung around around makes it so much worse.
She pushes herself off the ground, crawling until her lower book leans against a bookshelf. The wolf--it's already caught up with them. She quickly turns to Claire and throws her the portal. Who's given it to Charani, in case the wolf decides to charge at them again.
But instead, it goes for Naomi. Claws rake at her sides, and Cassidy hurriedly recalls Vali from his place near her. Her fire spells barely worked on the wolf and he's a liability if he's outside.
There are few things left that she can do. Cassidy follows Claire and casts a KNOCKERBACKER, hopefully pushing the wolf into the enchanted door.

the witches realize that the doors are, for all intents and purposes, impossible to blast through. which shouldn't make much sense: a normal enchantment should blast away with enough pressure. (unless, as claire fermont is likely to recall: the enchantment is rule-based in that the opener must fulfill particular criteria...) [break][break] they see the door as a weapon and they are not inherently wrong in their assumptions for this use. but when they knock the wolf back (which, thanks to naomi's upfront attack and several long-distance spells is a huge success). Naomi Oliver hand is bitten into for her foolish endeavors, but the group makes wise use of her sacrifice.[break][break]both she and the wolf are knocked backward into the door. of course what should happen is that the wolf is damaged or knocked back or at least slams into the door with a satisfying thud. but there is no such thing. because the door had never been built to keep the blood of gareth out- only the pretenders. [break][break] the door swings open as the wolf flies through the air. isobelle and naomi crash into the staircase where the last saw the other sister. the wolf stumbles struggles to stand up. the door hangs ajar. [break][break]do they make a break for it?

Getting knocked around by all of these spells certainly hurt, but by now Naomi hardly had any feeling left in her body. For a moment she laid there on the stairs too surprised to even move. Never would’ve expected the sealed door to just open like that. If that was the case, then why did they even have to go down to this creepy basement?[break][break]
Forget it. Her anger began to subside and Naomi lost the will to keep going. The throbbing pain in her hand dominated her thoughts. Don’t want to think about any of these other injures. She could worry about that if they managed to get out of here alive. Apparently wolf girl could just follow the others while they all ran away, but what else was there to do? [break][break]
Naomi didn’t even know if they could kill this thing anymore. Like for real. Wolf sis is struggling a bit, but the rest of them should probably be dead already. This wasn’t what they signed up for. Who knows, it might even count as murder since this clearly wouldn’t be an accident. [break][break]
Figuring out the likelihood of being arrest was too far beyond Naomi’s current mental ability. Instead she began to crawl away before the wolf started up again. Back up the stairs to safety. Who knows, maybe someone on her team could bury this girl so she’ll actually be stuck this time.[break][break]

Naomi keeps her latent hostility in check and decides to go up the stairs instead of trying to murder this wolf girl. [break]

Claire's blood run cold when the door opens as soon as the wolf's body hit it. Everything is clear. It's obvious from the start, but Claire likes to give the benefit of the doubt. Her assumption from before is wrong. The enchantment is not strong enough to hold the wolf, it's not a notch higher than their skills. The enchantment is there to reduce them to severed limbs, pools of blood, flesh bitten.
"How dare," Claire breathes. She springs into action, activating the portal and slipping through. In an instant she's back at the entrance. The Knight dashes between the Naomi and the wolf. Once more, she casts Knockerbacker to the wolf, should it hit would send the monster tumbling down. It should give them enough leeway. Just to be sure, Claire summons Vani once again. No word is spoken, Vani knows what he should do.
Claire easily picks Naomi up bridal-style before she and Vani rush out of the cavern. "Charani! Cassidy! We're getting out!"
Turning your back to the enemy is always a bad idea. It could easily pick the group off one by one, and they won't be able to do anything about it. But the open sky is inviting. It gives Claire renewed hope. But honestly, everything is infinitely better than being stuck in a room with a werewolf hybrid which will kill you at any given notice.
As far as Claire can feel, Vani is still extremely weak. Strangely, it's not reflected on her. That alone, worries her. The boar, still eerily quiet, paws at the ground and glares at the door. Once Charani and Cassidy is out, Claire and Vani would try to freeze the entrance to the cavern. The orbs could easily destroy it, Claire knows, but the goal is not to stop the wolf--it's to delay her.
"Scatter," Claire says with hushed tone. Charani still has a portal, and so does Claire. "Buddy system. Keep the portals open. Slip through if the wolf is about to get to you."

TL;DR Casts KNOCKERBACKER to the wolf to send it tumbling down the stairs. Picks Naomi Oliver upand exits the cavern. Once Charani and Cassidy are out of the cavern, would use LARGE SPREAD to freeze the gaps of the entrance. Tells cassidy wolfe and Charani Petrov to scatter, buddy system, and keep the portals open and slip through if the wolf gets to them/vice versa.
The door opened. The door opened? The door opened. This meant these enchantments were nothing but lies. If this was truly meant to keep the wolf girl in there is no doubt in his mind that the sisters would have extensively tested them out to make sure they could contain such a creature. The enchantments didn't even activate when the wolf burst through the door. Nothing.
That meant this place was so much more sinister than he could have imagined. This was a sacrifice. A tomb. The enchantments weren't meant to keep that thing in... but to keep it's prey enclosed inside. He gripped the small portal he still had in his hand as Claire yelled towards both himself and Cassidy. Escape. That was the only option. Escape this betrayal.
He starts to make a break for it like he was told. He feels his body moving slower than usual... he can feel himself falling. He hits the ground for an instant, tripping over a mangled arm. Shit. It feels like he fell into a puddle. It was still somewhat warm and sticky. It tasted like iron in his mouth... it was one of the pools of blood. He could feel it... it was disgusting. He got up a few seconds later... it took him a bit longer once he realized what he was now covered in. HIs body shivered involuntarily as he tried to make it outside. He was disgusting... covered in the blood of the dead; no doubt little bits of flesh stuck to him as well. He couldn't... he couldn't breath. He just had to escape. They all had to escape.
"Cassidy, Hurry!," he shouted to the girl who was closest to him. They could easily make it through the door couldn't they? They were much closer to it than Claire and Naomi after all. They just had to make sure to not get hit. Make sure the wolf didn't get them. They just needed to survive long enough to make it out. To make it away from the creature.
------- Sums: Falls to the ground while trying to escape. Covered in blood and guts. Holds portal close to self and calls for Cassidy to run with him. Tries to leave through the now open door being all gross with arm still stinging and hurt. Hopes Cassidy is close behind. he knockerbacker hits. The wolf and Naomi are thrown back towards the door--and with shock, Cassidy realizes that it's suddenly swung open. She looks at Claire in panic, seeing how she's cast another knockerbacker on the wolf.
Could they make it?
She leans heavily on the wall and stands, nearly crying out in pain when her legs held weight. They have a chance...if they could just make it through the door--
She casts another knockerbacker in the wolf's direction, hoping to subdue it. They need more time. She needs more time. Her hands grapple against the wall, and she hobbles towards the door. Her bones scream in anguish, and she nearly trips from the pain.
"I-I'm coming..."

they make a break for it- the wolf is down and likely won't be down for long. it makes no sense as to what they're running towards: if the wolf hadn't ever really been "locked" in here, then that means that other sister is not going to play the part of their saving saint. considering the wolf is hardly half as injured as they are, it would be madness for them to actually run towards and away from it without getting caught. [break][break] but the chamber here is far worse off- and it does not always need to make sense. once they are out they can relocate. and locate the others. and, most importantly, be free to breathe and at least die on the surface. or die as cowards?[break][break] but they have made their decision, and it is not a pretty escape they make. the last one through, cassidy wolfe, nearly meets her end when the wolf strikes for the nth time. and they fumble and rush up the too-narrow staircase, the wolf hissing as it attempts to push its giant jaws through the gaps between the railing bars. [break][break] and they push through and break out in the room where they started-- breathless as they turn to meet...-- [break][break]
